Well my site got a long way to go but every time I make one it doesn’t work with ie6 no matter how many conditional stylesheets, hacks and other tricks it always gives me another bug to deal with and to be honest I’m bloody well sick of it. –Alex Rogahn

Elliot Jay Stocks

Elliot of http://elliotjaystocks.com says:

Great movement here.

I’ve offered limited IE6 support on my personal site since I released it last year, but in general I’ve always catered for IE6 when it comes to client projects. Not any more. As of now, I’m no longer including it in the standard project scope. If a client wants IE6 support, it’ll be an optional, charged-for extra. The new version of elliotjaystocks.com (in the works) will most definitely not be supporting it, except for the inclusion of a “you need to upgrade your browser” message.

I’ve blogged about the IE Death March here: http://elliotjaystocks.com/blog/archive/2008/death-to-ie6/

Best,

Elliot

Or at least that’s what I think they would say… If that had included a comment instead of leaving it up to me to find something on their site to copy and paste.

Is there a flag I could hold? Because I’ll gladly hold it. Please put Revyver on there, granted I’ve already considered it dead, but I’ll be glad to send it to hell again.

Can’t forget my blue screen of death either!

I am a freelance designer and have already dropped support for IE6 in everything I do, and suggest the same to everyone I outsource to.

Thanks!

Finally, a movement to end IE support. Let’s end IE7 support next. 😉

I specifically refuse to even test in IE6, so I have no idea whether my site works in any way using that browser. IE6 users can deal with it.
